Finally found the solution to getting ARC to function properly, even through power cycles, for APPS audio output from Panasonic TC-L58E60 via HDMI to Yamaha RX-V375. also, you would need to likely manually set which output you want to use if you have both tv and avr on as you would be connected to both at once Panasonic attitude was if you don't use a Panasonic device they can't help you . That was the step I missed. Having to utilize the ARC function eliminates everything I thought I knew about ARC.
